I've got a few questions, which was the first partnership to invent the flip phone... and why do you like the flip phone? What makes the flip phone famous...?
thank yaz.
Motorola. Thier first "flip" phone was no more than a big brick that had a flip on it. The first "clamshell" phone was also made by motorola and it was called the motorola Startac. this was the first unwavering flip phone. (in the U.S. anyway). They arte famous because of size, they take what a normal sized phone has and cuts the size in effect in half. This was a big deal back when phones were big bricks "zach morris phone" and they took up so much berth. "candy bar" style phones were going away with blockage of nokia models but as they are all becoming so small, you are seeing more and more "candy bar" make phones come back (samsung upstage) as they can also be very small. Another key idea is that the buttons are covered when flip phone is closed so no unpremeditated dialing when it's in your pocket. Hope this helps.

Flip phone???
Feb 08, 2008 by Tha Blessed One | Posted in Cell Phones & Plans
My hidey-hole on my flip phone is completely detached, but my phone still works w/ bluetooth or speakerphone. But I have my phone on restriction. So now I can't get incoming calls. My voicemail picks plain up. Anyone know a site I can go to to see the different screens on the phone so I can navigate my way to take restriction off?????
P.S.
I have a nokia 6255i
Call the phone convention you get your service from. They can help you with this. Some places accept walk in...and other s have customer service over the a call.

What flip phone is a formidable replace for the iphone 3g?
Sep 15, 2009 by zal3nt | Posted in Mobile Phones & Plans
I only want to know as my contract soon runs out and dont know whether to get a iphone 3gs or a uncordial flip styled phone!
From my knowledge in the mobile world, flip phones are dead. The sliders and keyboard phones are the latest in condensed handsets.
If you must have a flip, I would advise the BlackBerry Pearl flip, as it covers much of the functionality that the iPhone 3G has (wifi, web browsing, email, iTunes, etc.).
However, in my belief, you're better off with the iPhone.
Here's my advice... renew your contract, and get the iPhone 3GS, but keep the iPhone 3G. Here's why...
You can keep your SIM humorist in your iPhone 3G, but leave the 3GS sealed. As the iPhone is the hottest product on today's store, there are ready and willing buyers out there that have cash waiting for your sealed iPhone 3GS.
For a 32GB iPhone 3GS here in Canada, it costs $299 with an increment of tax with a 3 year renewal. On my local classifieds, I see no end to people offering $700 dough for an iPhone 3GS. Assuming it's the same where you are, by simple math, you would be making yourself short of $400 with very hardly effort.
Send me a message if you'd like help in doing this.
