I heard that I destitution to register my SanDisk microSD into my LG UX260 before I can play any music or videos on my cellphone. Can someone asseverate me if this information is correct and how to register it onto my phone?

I have an LG Chocolate cellphone and i hankering to put some music on it. But i have no idea how to do it. I bought a cable so i could connect it to the computer but then a sign pops up saying that i distress to put on the cd which i dont have.
what should i do?
