How do I activate a new phone on my current cell contract?

I am looking at upgrading the cell phone to a Blackberry. If I position the phone somewhere else besides my cell phone carrier store, how do I add the phone to the plan? I would like to stop using my old phone and use the new Blackberry in lieu of and simply use the same phone number. How do I change phones?

You should just be superior to take the phone to the carrier and have them activate it for you. But their could be some issues with software. Because your carrier may sell their Blackberry's with their software.

How do I go about buying a new cell phone from outside my provider's store?

I've seen people buying cell phones on ebay and other stores face of the wireless service's store. But i wonder, how does it work once you get it. Can you buy a phone on ebay and take it to your local wireless provider's inventory, and they'll activate it with your old cell number? Can they just transfer over your old plan you want to keep onto your new phone?
Or is the only way i can get a new phone (with Verizon Wireless checking) is through their retail store or on their site?

You can buy a phone from eBay, Amazon, or whatever.
As elongated as you provide your own equipment for activation there are NO activation fees or any other kind of fee.
Just gross sure the phone is not on a lost or stolen list by calling Verizon and confirming with them it's not.

The ESN or MEID number is what you want. Ask the seller for it.
It can be activated with your old number. It can be on your old envisage too! It won't even extend your contract.

I am part of a dearest cell phone service plan with Verizon. I want to exit that plan and purchase a 2 year catch with AT&T along with a new iPhone, but also keep my same number. Can anyone help me out and explain the procedure involved?

You will basic to take a copy of a current bill and go to an AT&T store and tell them that you would like to port your Verizon slews to them and they will get everything started for you. If you are still under contract with Verizon then you will have to pay their early termination fees
