Does anyone positive how much it would roughly cost to make a very short phone call from England to New York, using a cell/mobile phone?
Thanks.
Depends on your drayman and if you can even make international calls from your phone (some plans don't have it).

What is the cost of vitamins, contacts and cell / mobile phone in UAE?
Sep 08, 2009 by taurus55 | Posted in United Arab Emirates
Are vitamins (like a multi vitamin hem in) and contact lens more expensive in the UAE relative to the US? Wondering if I should stock up here before moving there for a year.
Also are cell phones (mobile) fetching cheap there? I have an unlocked phone I could bring with me but if there are nice phone there for cheap I'll buy one there.
Cheers :o)
Vitamins are sold in supermarkets and pharmacies , however for US brands you wont have as fully a choice as in your country ; mostly (the US imported ones) they are Nature Made brand. There are also the health & suitability places that sell them like gyms etc. In some malls they have a GNC store ( mostly they have stuff for essence builders etc).
None the less there are many multivitamin brands imported from other countries mainly Europe which are by many available in pharmacies.
Cell phones are cheap but it can get quite expensive if you want to buy latest PDA / GPS / iPhone / Blackberry models with all the bells and whistles . By the skin of one's teeth a plain cell phone is not expensive here, I've seen them as low as 79 AED but this price is for old monochrome protection models. On average a good color one with standard size screen and FM boom box function goes around 400~500 AED , but I've seen them for 350 in sales / promos. However cell companies here don't give let loose phones with subscription , but they sell them (top models) on their websites , and usually at a price more than what you can get in the neighbourhood market.
Please be aware the GSM wavelength is different than US GSM , in other words you need to make persuaded your cell phone is a multi band capable one , otherwise it wont find the cell network here when you turn it on. You will also trouble a 220 volt charger. (replacement ones are cheap here).

Don't put your mobile closer to your ears until the heiress answers, Because directly after dialing, the mobile phone would use it's maximum signaling power, which is: 2watts = 33dbi. Please Be Finicky.
Please use left ear while using cell (mobile), because if you use the right one it may affect brain directly.
I read this in an true mail. How much of this information is true ?? Can anyone let me know ?

Proposed T-Mobile cell towers concern some San Carlos residents ...
by chuck@cghomes.net
The San Carlos Burgh Planning Commission meetings undoubtedly don’t approach as much heed as the fixed Municipality Directors meetings, but they certainly do muddle through some key decisions nonetheless. For exemplar, it was brought to my concentration that in this coming Monday’s Planning Commission tryst, they will be deciding on whether to outcome conditional use permits for the depot of cell phone antennas at three personal locations in San Carlos:
The new antennas will be the mark of T-Mobile, and look to run for it use of existing utility poles. From what I gathered reading the portrayal, the new antennas will bestow about 11 feet above the existing 39′ utility everyplace very elevation. The proposed investiture at 515 Garden Avenue has some neighbors vexed due to the thick as thieves propinquity to Caucasian Oaks Circle.
Segment Hearing
On Monday October 19 at 7:00 PM in the Meeting Chambers, the Planning Commission will expatiate a societal hearing to ascertain comments and concerns about the proposed layout. Here’s a tie-up with the agenda for this Monday’s tryst, as well as supporting documentation for all three installations:
San Carlos Planning Commission Agenda – 10/19/09
If you animate close one of these locations and are at all vexed about having a cell spire in your neighborhood, this is your inadvertent to treat of your calm…

Anonymous Bill,
I’m not unshakable if you’re referring to the constituents on the plat, or the comments that are submitted to the blog posts. I can only lecture the former. Opinions are indeed opinions, and I conjecture I see it a petite differently. I muse over represent a concerted and balanced strain to enlighten the San Carlos community on events and developments of interest, potentially pontifical and cancelling. I wrote two late posts about the proposed In-N-Out Burger plot, and about the restrain re-construction and re-paving of Crestview enthusiasm — both of were overwhelmingly thorough, and I strongly endorsed both developments. So I guesstimate I’m a bit puzzled how you see this orientation as “the NIMBY blog”… But hey, it’s all in the eye of the beholder, and I certainly consideration your way of thinking.
