How do mobile phone plans work in australia?

Hi i will be motile to the OZ in about a month or so and i have been looking into getting a mobile. The plans are very different to what i am used to. I see that they use caps, and the price of mobiles can be charged over the month preferably of buying it in full. Also i would like to get a a monthly plan. Do they do any sort of credit check? How is the provider 3? Thanks all

There is every genre of plan you can imagine - but they will be either pre-paid or Monthly bills. The pre-paid ones can be capped if you itch, the monthly-billed ones are not.

I presume they do a credit check, but may just take an imprint of your tribute card instead. It's a long time since I signed up for this plan so I'm not sure.

I've heard that the '3' coverage isn't close. I use Vodafone and they're fine....never had a problem with them.

Also...bring your handset with you and you won't need to buy a phone.

I am traveling around Europe this summer, know of any cheap mobile phone plans?

I will be in England, Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Czech Republic and Italy. I would like to get a stall phone for the month I am there instead of buying phone cards ect. Do you know of any companys or plans that offer this to foreigners? A pay as you go personification would be great. Thanks!

I've been checking out prices on the orange website, and they have a web discounted price on contracts. I gather that this is because orange stores and the orange online store are different company.. or under dissimilar management. or something? So where does over the phone sales fall into? Is it cheaper than buying in-store?

online companies are for the most part cheaper, yes. high sreet shops charge stupid amounts for contracts. online contracts are a lot cheaper.

use this website. it compares all online deals for critical phones. dirt cheap prices. contracts start from £3 a month !
