How do i record music off of my mic? Im using a M-audio Mobile pre Interface?

I Have connected my m audio mobile pre interface to my comuter via usb, but i cant find a way to advised my voice, or when i plug in my guitar i cant hear anything. Can you tell me what to do so i can record my voice?
First, recommendation some headphones into the jack on the front and see if you hear the guitar and mic. If not, there is a problem with the interface. If you do hear unbroken, the problem is with your software. You need to select the m-audio as your recording input device in your software.

im recording into garageband and i cant seem to get any signal my mic works refined but not my guitar ..
and whats the difference between stereo or mono does one have less quality or use more respect>?
dave's factual...check signal flow. make sure your getting signal to the usb and then the gb. if you're not, demonstrate sure your prefs are set to accept the usb and not internal. if your talking about your internal mic working and not the usb, my speculate is that your i/o needs switched. if the mic works through the usb, but not the guitar, make sure your input is in the fittingly spot and that your guitar is turned up...sounds simple but i've seen it happen.
