What is the cheapest city in the US, to leave from to get to southeast Asia, Thailand?
Dec 05, 2007 by Emily A | Posted in Air Travel
I appetite to fly to thailand and I was wondering if tickets were cheaper if I leave from different cities in the US. From chicago I can get tickets around 1300-1500 but are they cheaper other places? Or would it be cheaper to buy a ticket to somewhere else, then a diff ticket to thailand? I assume I am just wondering the cheapest way to get there.
Sounds like you indigence to do a little bit of experimenting via trial and error -- and have a calculator handy!
First of all, it's acceptable going to be cheapest for you to fly into Bangkok (rather than somewhere else in Thailand) since it's the biggest city and has a huge international airport. However, you might also look into flights to Singapore or Kuala Lumpur -- two great Southeast Asian hubs -- and then make your way to Thailand on a separate leg, using one of the low-cost Asian carriers like Tiger Airways, Jet Star Asia, or Air Asia. (Perk: if it's not actually Bangkok that you want to get to, you might be able to fly into another Thai destination using one of these carriers -- many fly into location like Phuket, Surat Thani, and Chiang Mai.) It'll be up to you to figure out what's most cost-stuff for you, and whether the hassle of changing carriers is worth the savings you might find.
Secondly, I'm fairly self-assured that you're likely to find lower prices leaving from the West Coast of the U.S. -- Los Angeles, San Francisco, or even Seattle. However, if you're living in the Chicago quarter, you need to weigh up again whether it's worth it to you to get yourself to the West Coast from there in order to catch a cheaper swarm to Asia; I have a sneaking suspicion that you won't actually be saving much.
Hope this gives you a mini food for thought, if nothing else! Like I said, you need to weigh up whether the ease of getting a straightforward ticket from Chicago to Bangkok is more appealing to you than extenuating some money by making the trip a tad more convoluted.
Good luck!

What is the cheapest way to print thousands of pamphlets?
Oct 31, 2007 by Richie Paine | Posted in Other - Advertising & Marketing
Where can I get two-bit paper, cheap printing, etc.? Bottom of the barrel dirt cheap is what I'm looking for and whoever can control me to the cheapest method gets the kudos.
I old to run an offset press and printed everything from memo pads to brochures etc. The cheapest way is to find a commercial printing co. not the duplicate centre type but one that uses printing presses. they are cheaper also the more colours the more valuable so try to use one col or if possible. also being flexible about the col or of paper and or ink helps.. if they have a surplus of red ink for instance they may give you a discount also when orders are printed often there are sheets of files left over and they would be happy to use them up so if you don't mind a mixture of coloured paper that will also lower the tariff. The more you print the cheaper it is as most of the labour and cost is attached to the setting up of the item to be printed, paradigm setting, layouts etc. Photos are very expensive. If you plan on having more printed later they will be even cheaper as they will already have the plates game.
