Exxon showed no remorse and they were initially charged with $5 Billion in damages. But Exxon REFUSED to pay it, they kept appealing and appealing and appealing because they got so much means to throw at the court. The US Supreme Court yesterday gave into Exxon. Now they only owe $500 mil.

Why?
