How does a mobile dictionary works and how it was developed?

I am planning to for a thesis(research) regarding mobile dictionary so i wanted to know how it was developed, what programming intercourse was used, the design and the logic of creating it. I'm hoping for your response. thank you!
Nokia phones use "ISA Platfrom" operating system and it'd not licensed to any no because it's a by Nokia and ther for no community API for it. Programmers you J2ME (Micro Java) to develop softwares for Nokia phones.
It uses a numbers input and switch it into words list. Ever word has a rank in the list. For example:
If you type 64 this could unkind "in", "do" or "im" the dictionary will judge "in" because it has the highest rank under "64" but will give you the privilege to select from the matches.

i am having the mobile 5310 music particular! i want a good dictionary software1 but unfortunately my mobile supports only java application! i found some skilled application but that's are in symbian format! please give me the link where i can download the jar format dictionary!
Evidently it's a common search. When I googled it was one of the choices. Looks like several good ones there. You might also search for mobile dictionary and the label name.
