What is the best free cell phone to get for Cingular?

Getting a new devise family plan. They say i get free phone and I would like to know what is the best free phone cingular has. Can someone tell me their derogatory experience with that particular cell phone? I just want a phone where i can text and call with ease. I also like a phone where i could have a camera so i can put a wallpaper on it. I don't genuinely care about ringtones.
Suggestions?

If you are on any rule sponsored program, you can get a free phone from Safelink Wireless. This seems ridiculous to me. I don't have one, because I am trying to manage expenses. I volunteer a lot and see these people with free cell phones and several "unacceptable" people with expensive ones that they bought with a lot of features. Doesn't this seem a teensy-weensy mixed up? Are cell phones a right for all or something people should decide to purchase if they have the desire and means?
I was not in the know of this program and agree with you!! Cell phones are a luxury; not a necessity. And yes, people are messed up advantageous now with their financial responsibilities. They can't pay their bills and think that is 100% ok, to just walk away. Yet they have full-guy with all the the movie channels, internet, netflix, itunes, cell phones etc... it indeed makes ill.
I make a decent income but if I purchased everything I wanted on these monthly subscriptions, I'm melodious sure I would be living paycheck to paycheck.
Per the Safelink Wireless website, it's not ready in my state. We do have a program where low income people are given refurbished cell phones and the phones are only brisk for calls to 911. I think this is a good program.

My next of kin switched to AT&T , and my parents ordered four free cell phones that come with our family plan . The poser is , none of my family knows what kind of phone were gonna recieve in the mail (so stupid !) So can we deflection our phones if we don't like it ??
if you ordered online you can only market it through the mail not at a store. Here is a little more info....
