how does google maps get the approximate location form the mobile network?

Google maps mobile can sell for you your approximate location in a certain range. What API does it use to do this? It has to be something that the mobile exposes. How to get hold of the API?

Really there will a big different when browser the on PC. Mobile phone has application that suitable. maps mobile needs update to tack the desire connection you really want.

Is there any way that you can put the orientation up on google maps mobile, instead of north up?

I have nokia n95 8gb and I paramour google maps mobile. The only problem I have is that it doesn't let me put orientation (directions) up when I am using it to drive. The north is always up which can get very confusing when driving. Any pirate???

Miserably, none that I have found.

i formula on getting a curve 8320 with t-mobile that has built in wi-fi. i plan on downloading mobile google maps for it but do i constraint a t-mobile internet plan to be able to use it? im pretty sure i can download it at home with my wi-fi influence, but wat if im somwhere where there is no wi-fi can i still access google maps w/out a internet plan from t-mobile?

Even if you download google maps for above-board and install it though your computer you will need tmobile blackberry data plan to use them. Google maps dedication doesnt come with maps data, just downloads maps from internet as needed. Google maps may not use your adept in wifi but I think the cheapest data plans.
