is there a way i can download and save sections of maps on my windows mobile phone?

I have a windows mobile phone with an expandable recollection slot so space is not my issue, I am just wondering if there is a way i can save like a leg out of google maps, maybe a small city, on to my memory card and use it on my phone. I separate i can axcess google with the internet on my phone but i want to avoid data habit because its expensive.
I be acquainted with there is software (I think it was like $30-$40) that you can purchase and save the sections of the map and put it into your pda.
I had to buy a map software for my primogenitor and it also converted to fit into my pda so whenever I need to use the map, that's how I used it. (But I forgot what software it was, it was long times ago)
spending that $30-40 (one period fee) beats the heck out of using the date plan.

Looking at the amount of information that those maps contain, I highly doubt they exist yet, because it takes almost an entire dvd (around 4GB) and very few phones can hilt that much information (memorywise, not memory card wise). Googles maps has applications for all mobile phones and in big cities in the US it can even show you transportation in real time, and it's free!

i have a phone and it came with window mobile on it. i wanted to add the windows get along search with maps app (by downloading it to my computer and then syncing in) and was wanting to know if using the maps would charge internet form on my phone. im not a big fan of using phone internet and hate that it cost so much to use it. i wanna use maps but i dont impecuniousness to pay for phone internet
