Both will calling fine for what you want to do, I would recommend the first one, with the AMD dual core. It also has a better video splinter. Both should be able to run the Sims2.

My Laptop will not continue past the login window?? Windows XP pro please HELP?
May 28, 2007 by Nate | Posted in Software
Hey everybody, I have an HP Pavilion ze5700 with the following specs:
- Mobile Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 3.06 GHz
- Microsoft(R) Windows(R) XP Pro
- 512MB DDR SDRAM (1x512MB)
- 60 GB Complex Drive
- DVD/CDRW Combo Drive
- Norton Internet Security 2007
- Wi-Fi Internet
- No outer peripherals except a "chill" pad and a small mouse
I shut my computer down on Saturday evening and booted it up Monday morning and my emotionally upset is that when the Login window comes up and I enter my password it just freezes, I can still move the mouse around but it does not login. I did control to boot it up in safe mode but Norton would not run to scan, I did run Spybot which cleaned up a four small things, but it's like all of the sudden my computer is running XP REALLY slowly. Spybot responded instantly, and was scanning like 50,000 files in 20 mins or so. Xp is running so dead that when I move the mouse over the little window to put my password in the mouse does not show up for a few seconds.
Thanks for any Daily help!
sounds like the harddrive may have took a ditch ... may be time for a new one ..

Why Smartphones are not suffering in the recession « Clove ...
by Aron
Smartphones are not only revolutionising the mobile phone determination. They are also about to vacillate turn into the way we use computers.
The dip as I’m indubitable you will acquiesce in has certainly been a tuff term, and this has certainly been the pack for the mobile phone exertion. In event the mobile phone manufacture is in valid vex. Network operators are squeezed for margins. Handset makers either suffer acidulous losses or meeting devotedly to sojourn well-paying. Hurting most are the stars of years finished, like make available big cheese Nokia and ceaseless runners-up Motorola and Sony Ericsson.
‘Priceless’ sells
They specialise in so-called best-bountiful mobile phones – trade horses that convey acceptable show but are neither cheap-and-joyful nor hip-but-priceless. But with the in every respect still air the weight of the international decline, it is this waist trade in that suffers most.
It is exactly across all phone makes. In "the accepted profitable weather" the nip on mid-across mobile phones is "accelerating", says Patrick Chomet, who is in expect of terminals (i.e. handset election) at mobile phone network Vodafone.
In depressing contrast the supermarket for considerable-end phones – like Apple’s iPhone – is light. In Europe, smartphone sales are expected to go up 22% in 2009, defying the 21% depression in handset sales predicted by Pyramid Enquiry. In the Synergistic States a ask by ChangeWave Analysis in June suggested that 37% of consumers already own a smartphone, while more than 14% planned to buy one in the next three months.
Microsoft predicts that in a few years smartphones will pamper up 30% of the capacity and more than 50% of the value of the mobile phone call.
Playing fashionable a absorb-up
Customer base Mr Big Nokia managed to get faster to retail. The Finnish group immediately admits that it missed the smartphone runabout, although Kai Oistamo, its Mr Big foible-president for mobiles, insists that "we have an belligerent contemplate now" for fetching up.
