My question is whether or not my laptop can handle it(or would it overheat/ crash), and if it could handle this type of upgrade, would my system even validate all 8GB of RAM? I've heard that Windows XP will only recognize up to 4GB of RAM. And if Windows can recognize this much RAM, would Everquest 2 (a fasten on program) utilize it?
Not succeeding to work with that ram because its for desktops. Your laptop only has two slots for ram. Likely can't even do 4 GB Because it would be double sided recollection, and there aren't many laptops that can use it.

I'd stop the 6400, very similar to the 1501 but intel instead amd. Same price as the smaller boob tube 640m. Similar to the disc 1505. Best bang for the buck. If you dont require it right away, wait till July, there will be price wars of ALL brands, not right-minded Dell, although dell usually is one of the top brands for tech upport and for value for the dollar. And intel will leave prices on july 22
