What do you think of the G1 mobile phone and whats the sound quality like on the Mp3 player?

I'm looking to buy the T-Mobile G1 phone, and would like to identify what you think? Also use my current phone to listen to music and would like to know what the common-sense quality is like on the G1 when using a headset.

The G1 is salubrious and the android market is pretty darn cool. but once your past the novelty of that it is totally a cheap feeling and looking phone. The sound quality is not actually the finest but it depends what you want to use it for. It is also only on T-mobile and is not the best for internet although it claims to be. I went through lots of phones when i was out to regenerate my contract and went for the Tocco as the quality is higher pretty much all round! the report quality is very good on it and the pictures are pretty good too. i also love the widget menu. I would also approve the Storm or the Renoir.

How do I get my t-mobile G1 to give me a notification for texts while I am on a call?

I lawful got a new t-mobile G1, and i am just learning how to use it. But I noticed that I do not get a beep or vibrate when I am on a call. If i'm on a call, i have to constantly keep looking at the camouflage to check and see if i have a new text message, it's really annoying. Does any1 know if there is an dedication or anyway that i can at least get it to beep and notify me that i have new messages?

i noticed that also when i got my g1. i about it beeps in the call when you are on the phone but the beep is so quiet that it may as well not beep.

I downloaded an application called 'SMS Popup', and in the diligence, it gives you your text displayed ont he screen when you get it, like an iPhone. In that application, you can adapt to settings for texts like, Vibrate, vibrate pattern, LED Color, Ringtone, etc. Now with that, my G1 vibrates when I am on the phone and I get a call.
