How to get Microsoft Wireless Mobile Mouse 3000 to work?

Microsoft Wireless Mobile Mouse 3000, stigmatize new. I followed the instructions but mouse cursor does not move on screen. Plugged in receiver, put in battery, all lights profession, computer recognizes mouse connected, downloaded latest software from Microsoft site, pushed buttons to sync, rural light on receiver shows that sync is correct, but no matter what I do, reboot, restart, opposite USB port, the mouse will not move the cursor on the screen. Regular mouse plugged to same port works elegant.
This is not a Bluetooth device. It is a USB connection.
How can i get my Microsoft Wireless Mobile Mouse 3000 to work on my MacBook Pro?

I perfectly bought it from ebay and there are no instructions, believe me i have DEVOURED everything that google has had to offer and there is nothing.
I use a MacBook Pro which has OS X 10.5.

I am using Nokia N73 mobile and i have statistics cable for it. I wanna use Visual studio 2005 for programming. Is it possible to fashion an application that displays the text typed in the mobile simultaneously on the pc monitor ? Also is it possible to stalk the joystick of mobile and move pc mouse pointer accordingly ? If possible where can i find information about that ? If not possible, Which software can i use for such ideas ?
i skilled in my mobile can use bluetooth to control the mouse pointer and perform left/right click functions etc, so i devise that it is posible with some phones
