Yahoo Weather Mobile Alerts delivery erratic?
May 05, 2009 by Mr. Blue | Posted in Problems with Service
I am signed up for Yahoo Mobile Weather Alerts for two particular locations. Some days I get both alerts. Some days only one. Some days none. No help available on Yahoo Alerts errand-boy. Anyone having this problem too? Cure?
I will let slip you that I have received very few Yahoo Mobile Weather Alerts also. But I do get them.
Even though "Yahoo" is where you have them set up under - they come from the Weather Moat/ One thing I did notice is that if there is a weather alert on TV- I get that same alert on my phone around the same time.
So I dont invent the problem is Yahoo at all- it is the weather channel.
Here is an Idea:
Maybe you can get more frequent alerts by using another putting into play along with what you have set up -
Go to this site:
I also use this site for Alerts. I notice this is what the "big newspapers" use for greater alerts and the best thing is - THEY ARE FREE :)

example of how to Manage alerts
i lately put on suspend all - because I was getting to many msgs and need to "control" the amt.

Does the weather effect a mobile telephone signal?
Jan 15, 2008 by Thomas (from the UK) | Posted in Cell Phones & Plans
I room on the south coast of England and i use a Orange mobile telephone.
I have noticed the signal gets dull or non existent when the weather is bad, when i say bad, i mean raining and cloudy.
I was just wondering if their are any possible reasons for this, or is it my ingenuity/coincidence...?
I am on orange network (Pay As You Go) and havent had a signal all day, it has been raining heavily and is cloudy...
Does anybody have nearly the same problems?
At least 2 things about bad weather can lower a mobile phone signal. Rain can partially absorb the radio signals and since the blanket power output by the phone is weak, it can lose contact with the tower. Also during not fit for man weather ligntning and ionization in particularly low clouds can interfere and distort the signals between the phone and the castle.
