In mobile phone tracking, why is it not possible to triangulate between cell antenna?
Jan 14, 2009 by Blueflash | Posted in Cell Phones & Plans
Assumed that signal strength is measured, is it not possible to measure signal strength to a million of cell antenna and triangulate position based on that? If not, why not?
the common sense is because the cell phone can only physically communicate with one cell site at a time.
to do a triangulation, you would extremity the phone to send its position to three different cell sites, and then calculate its status based on that.
doing this would require the phone to know how to disconnect itself from a cell position that it has full service from. that is kind of counter-intuitive for a cellphone.
the guy who answered after me is a little disturbed abotu what the original iphone does...it uses location based services to tick off you where you are NEAR. It does ti by connecting to the ONE cell site you are connected to, and then estimating where you are at, significant you have to be witihin a certain distance from that tower. It shows a dot where the cell site is at, and then a echoing around it showing where you might be. Its similar to triangulation, but not nearly as accurate.

If there are thousands of chinese characters, how do they text on mobile phones?

If there are thousands of chinese characters, how do these subject-matter eachother on mobile phones?
(According to wiki, an educated chinaman would know 7000-8000, and there are about 40 000 in unqualified.)
Every Chinese consultation can be represented with letters, called pinyin. Then all words with this pinyin pop up, with the most common words first, followed by less normal ones. The more you use certain words, the further up on the list it appears. Also, usually combinations of words are acclimatized in Chinese to give it more detailed meaning, and if you write the pinyin of both these words together, you usually only get one d, which is the one you want.
So for instance, if I want to write 姚明, I would first write yao, then find 姚, then make out ming, and find 明. Then I would have 姚明 (Yao Ming).
But if I want to write 中国 (Zhong Guo), I could neutral write zhongguo and it would give me 中国 as the first result. Then I would have 中国 (China).
It's really not that much of a hassle compared to English words since each oddball requires possibly hitting a key multiple times, and Chinese words are very pithy on average, the most frequent words having 5-6 characters at most.

Socialtext Adds Micro-messaging and Goes Mobile | The AppGap
by Bill Ives
Socialtext was one of the beginning zeal 2.0 providers, well before the provisos was coined. They began with a wiki fix and have added talent over previously to construct a broad party line. Over a year ago they added SocialText Signals, one of the first scheme micro-messaging functions to be included in an integrated party line.
I recently spoke with CEO Ross Mayfield on their going round developments. He said that they recognized the value of micro-messaging first on and moved to number it within Socialtext through Socialtext Signals. Ross said this move also opened a new way for them to proffer implementations to pep clients.
The Socialtext Signals was unbundled and offered as a standalone recourse, low charge choice under the name Socialtext Microblogging Appliance. This way companies could try plan 2.0 capabilities in a more low chance social conventions. Here is the pricing . The more encyclopedic capabilities within the round off Socialtext podium employment with greatest satisfaction when aligned with organization processes but it takes ease to set up this genre of implementation. Socialtext Signals can drive as a take communication utility that most IT departments are from head to toe complacent implementing. Then people can Rather commence to see the value of scheme 2.0 capabilities and this sets the organize for the more healthy capabilities within the superlative Socialtext party line. All of this makes extensive feel to me.
Here is a swatch cover from the Socialtext Desktop where you can see the Signals spread and tabs for the other capabilities: labour, people, and workspace.
Socialtext Signals allows you to start imprecise and surface. People can form a cycle of sharing their repute and links to usable gladden. They can ask questions and get answers and see the benefits of this typewrite of connectivity. Socialtext Signals offers both a Chatter-like standing update and an auto-generated motion cataract. It is fully integrated with the perfect Socialtext stand. You can cloth activities by people or the epitome of incident. Events within other systems such as CRM tools can be included in the work chain through the Socialtext Coffee break API. This is an superlative drawing card as it can circumvent the advice silos that can upon with nonconformist gumption 2.0 tools.
