Is wifi not busy without smartphone connect? Basically does it work like a laptop? I don't need the anchor plan if i can just connect to my wifi for free
wifi is a phone act, it should work without any data plan. Data plans are more for email, web surfing etc. Use a wifi hotspot or unsecure network and surf away.

Is it possible to get a Verizon smartphone without a data plan?
May 30, 2009 by Dan | Posted in Cell Phones & Plans
I wish for to buy a smartphone off of ebay and activate it on Verizon wireless' website. I currently have the basic $39.99 programme. Will Verizon detect that my new phone is a smartphone and automatically upgrade me to a data plan? I don't desideratum the data features, I just really like the smartphone.
ya, so does everyone else. unfortunately Verizon likes to constrain people and say you don't need it, then poof, its on the bill. then when you call them and ask, they say it is REQUIRED for the phone, even though it is not, they just want more pelf.
