How do i get and install Windows Mobile 6 onto my HTC Tytn that has windows mobile 5?

I have an HTC Tytn that came pre-installed with windows mobile 5 and i paucity to install windows mobile 6. I am an HTC club member but the site has nothing to download. Please help me - where can i download windows mobile 6 and how do i invest it onto the phone?

I do not have faith that is compatible with 6 yet. They are working harder to get 6.1 on more of the newer phones than catch up to older 5.0 phones. I only got an HTC Touch that was preloaded with 6. Here is the link to show what phones can upgrade to 6 and 6.1.

How can I stop my Windows mobile 5.0 from deleting all contacts while syncing to my laptop?

All of a precipitate, everytime my Cingular 8125 windows mobile 5.0 phone ties to sync my mobile slant contacts with my laptop outlook contacts, it syncs fine, then my mobile outlook deleltes all of the kind new contacts I just loaded.

i would make one think updating & running your virus software on your computer just in case.... because there is always something new out there....

then, i would connection Cingular about the problem. they should be able to make suggestions if not help you solve the emotionally upset.

are all applications running on windows mobile 5 are compatible with windows mobile 6?

I have a O2 XDA atom which has windows mobile rip off pc version 5. I had also installed certain applications on it, I am planning to buy a new phone with windows mobile 6, will I be adept to run my old applications on a new phone?

Yes - if you buy a Windows Mobile Experienced device (ie .. with a touch screen).

If you buy a Windows Mobile Standard device (non-touch grade) your Pocket PC applications won't work.


Windows Mobile 6 Professional is basically just a prettied up interpretation of Windows Mobile 5 for Pocket PC. I've never encountered Windows Mobile 5 Pocket PC software that won't work on a WM6 Pro device.

Also - in "most" cases, you can run Pocket PC 2003 software and in some cases Receptacle PC 2002.
