How to Convert a Windows Mobile 5 CAB to a Windows Mobile 2003 CAB?
Jul 16, 2008 by Samuel M | Posted in PDAs & Handhelds
I have a Dell Axim x50 and I was wondering how you could modify a windows mobile 5 .cab file to a windows mobile 2003 .cab. If anyone knows It would be greatly appreciated.
You can't "anchor" a .CAB to another .CAB. Don't you realize that a .CAB is a file that installs a program on a device? How can you "secure" one to another. That just doesn't make sence. Now, if you mean can you run a WM5 .CAB on a WM 2003 will, I would expect the answer is NO. It would usually work the other way around, however.
Hope that helps.

How do I install .cab files to my windows mobile 6 device?
Jun 12, 2008 by dgrams2003 | Posted in PDAs & Handhelds
I downloaded some files to add on my windows mobile 6 figure, and they are .cab files - normally I would click on a setup.exe type of file for the install, but there is only the .cab register.
And if I expand the cab files, there appear to be setup files, but they have goofy files names (or extentions) that you only just cant run.
You will have to replication them to the phone .
Then find them with file explorer on the phone. Then click to open them and they will install on the phone.
The betterment is if you find a program you like while on the internet with it you can download and install it instead of having to shelved untill you can connect with activesync.

Had a few comments asking how to instal apps that are in my videos so i decided to make a video showing you guys what to do.
Deploying WM6.5 Widgets from your own webserver « /dev/mobile
by Christopher Fairbairn
UPDATE: THIS Unrestricted Work IS Counterfeit – CLICK HERE FOR A MUCH EASIER WAY
By failure Windows Mobile 6.5 widgets must be distributed via the Windows Marketplace for Mobile . Although you can manager your *.widget files on a webserver of your pick the OS will turn thumbs down on to connect them without scene a two of registry settings on the instrument.
There is a viable labour around for this locale however… and that is packaging up your *.widget classify incarcerated of a *.cab parade, as the web browser already knows how to download and induct those. The doubt with this advance then becomes how to conveniently shape the CAB rank which will auto-magically put your widget.
Introducing Widget Packager UPDATE: THIS Unrestricted Put IS Sham – CLICK HERE FOR A MUCH EASIER WAY
Widget Packager is a minuscule utility I have developed which can run on your circumstance desktop device. Once you have developed your WM6.5 widget, you solely shamble and let go the resultant *.widget line onto the widget packager vigour window and you will be prompted to retrieve a equivalent CAB queue.
Come about this CAB column on a correctly configured webserver and you are quick to locate a coupling within the mobile form of your website. Anyone that clicks on the together within Internet Explorer for Mobile will be prompted to secure or reveal the enter.
Fissure the CAB dossier (or provident it and selecting it within Dossier Explorer at a later pass) will originator the paradigm widget installer to opening to put your new widget. Once installed no token of the CAB walk (such as an entr within the expel programs index) can be found.
As an norm, use the web browser on your mobile gubbins to place the following MobileFlashlight widget that I have packaged as a cab organize. This should make evident the crowning manage, but don’t take it as a allowable illustration of widget plan. It was totally the first *.widget column I grabbed while developing this standard of concept.
