How do you create a free ringtone?

I be aware about myxer.com, but I'd rather not make a ringtone and then have to download it from the internet on my phone, because that costs money. I have a micro SD in the offing and an adapter, can you tell me how to make a free ringtone with that? Thanks.
Oh, and I use limewire, so creating a ringtone on iTunes doesn't drudgery.
