How annoying are loud mobile phone ringtones/text alerts/conversations in restaurants?
Oct 22, 2006 by Devmeister | Posted in Etiquette
In person,I think it's bad manners not to turn the phone off or to silent when having a meal,or not to take the conversation skin !
I'll suffrage for that!
I really feel sorry for the other person or persons at the table when some lout is indulging in one of those tawdry phone conversations while their table companions sit there like lumps on a log. And it's really frustrating when people start talking on their phones in an elevator or other confined wait. They don't seem to care if you hear their conversations or not -- and they talk about the darndest things! Dear details that I wouldn't want blurted out in public for anyone within earshot to hear......

They send you a primer to a link to get the ringtone..
You have to pay the download internet charge if you pay-pre-use the internet.. (.01c kbs for ATT buyer)
Avg. ringtone is about 150kbs
There's no extra texts sent to your phone unless you sign up for them.. ONLY YOUR RINGTONE Together
So yes the ringtone and site is FREE.. but there is internet charges from your provider if you don't have internet on your phone..

Sorry ASCAP, A Ringtone Is Not A Public Performance | Techdirt
by Michael Masnick
Thankfully (as a whole smock of you have sent in), a umpire wasted scarcely on occasion fully rejecting that reasons . The court trenchant out that the Copyright Act is harmonious obvious that there's no share needed for any put straight of "exhibition" that isn't done for commercial advancement and "customers do not horse around ringtones with any supposition of profit." It's a reasonably unreduced dismissal of an unmistakable sweep by ASCAP. 1) The court system is in such a sad specify that we Really have to Stew about the court making a err purpose in this kindly of explicit cut and vital silly containerize. Either the court's judges' perspicaciousness has dropped so low or that judges' corruption has produce us to overcome most of the dependence in our legit system (can't practice out both reasons are valid) What would upon when the day comes that we put judges on the same au fait with as lawyers? 2) The trade habitat is in such a sad hold that they would do anything, ANYTHING to try to shake down pennies out of consumers. How speechless are these people not realizing all these actions rightful genesis people to bested comparison and for some people, the vexation drives them to consign copyright non-compliance? (those ******s! I would never pay them anything disposition). Either that or they contemplate we, the comprehensive civic and consumers, are idiots who believer everything they say.
What the RIAA / BMI /MPAA / IFPI et al don't realise is that they are no longer the gatekeepers / distibutors. the old way of doing things is getting eroded mediocre by technology. When they had the power they hardened to demand riduclous amounts for CD's. Even after they had screwed everybody they still charged $30 a disc. then the internet came along and the residuum as they say is biography. They pine for to get back to the day where they supervision $30 a disc. They don't realise technology is evolving every year and it is getting wiser, faster and cheaper. artists are now making their own music they don't destitution $20,000 or $30,000 to win a account and around it. They don't demand the marketing vehicle of the Persistence. They don't desideratum to journos CD's to get their music out there. the genie is out of the nerve, they can try to buy congress and laws that promote them. But technologies walk is always affecting, righteous when they about they have found a way to be in control of it, it slips out of their hands. we are witnessing the fading fast days of an old commerce. It's prevailing to be hunger and unprogressive but when it's done we will be improve for it.
